Soldier Ride



BabylonSRPoster.gifOn Friday, July 18, 2014, the Town of Babylon will host the 7th Annual Wounded Warrior Soldier Ride. This event is a 25 mile bicycle ride through the Town of Babylon to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and support servicemembers who have been injured in the line of duty and their families. The route begins at Town Hall in Lindenhurst and ends at Overlook Beach on Ocean Parkway.  Since 2008, nearly $575,000 has been raised for the Wounded Warrior Project as a result of this event.


To register, please click here. There is an early registration fee of $50.00 until June 18th. From June 19th on, the registration fee will be $60.00. Online registration ends on July 16th at 5:00 PM. Riders can register as a team if they wish.

If you are active duty military, an active duty military family member, a student or would like to start/join a team, email to get a promo code for discounted registration.

Registration includes:
  • Registration for Soldier Ride
  • Event Day festivities
  • Ride packet

    Registered riders may pick up their packets on Thursday, July 17 at American Legion Post 1120 on 80 Herbert Avenue in Lindenhurst from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

    The schedule for the ride on July 18 is as follows:

    7:00 AM - Registration and Packet Pickup Opens
    9:00 AM - Opening Ceremony
    9:30 AM - Ride begins
    Post ride - Community Picnic - tickets available for $10 on event day before ride begins.

    The ride is rain or shine. Transportation will provided from the end point at Overlook Beach back to Town Hall.
  • Rider Reception Dinner
    SRDinnerTickets.gifOn Wednesday, July 16, the Town of Babylon will be hosting a Rider Reception Dinner to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and to support the Soldier Ride. Guests will have the opportunity to meet with Soldier Ride participants. The dinner starts at 6:00 PM at the American Airpower Museum on New Highway in Farmingdale. A ticket for the dinner costs $50.00. Ten person tables are available.

    A ticket includes dinner provided by Texas Roadhouse; beer, wine, and soda; and live music.

    To purchase tickets, make a check payable to "Wounded Warrior Project" and drop off or mail to:
