DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE GOAL FOR FFY 2010/2011 FOR FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION (FTA) FUNDED PROJECTS

The Town of Babylon has established a goal of 2.32% for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation in Federal Transit Administration funding projects for Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2010/2011. The 2.32% goal was derived using a federally approved method entailing dividing the total number of DBE’s in an eight-county geographic area in the Architectural Services, Engineering Services, Surveying & Mapping and Environmental Consulting Services Industries that are ready, willing and able to do such work by the total number of businesses in those industries in the eight-county area. The data used was derived from the NYSDOT DBE Directory and the U.S. Census Bureau.

A description of this goal, as well as the Town of Babylon’s tentative DBE program for FTA-funded projects, is available for public inspection for thirty (45) days from the date of this notice between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 200 East Sunrise Highway, Lindenhurst, NY, 11757. A public meeting will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2010, 11:30am, on the 2010/2011 goal and plan. Comments on the goals will be accepted for 45 days from the date of this notice.
