About the Garden:
If you need a respite from the hectic day or looking for a change of scenery you don’t have to go far. The Carlls River Botanical Garden at Geiger Park offers a wonderful and serene experience as you follow the paths taking you over small bridges past luscious vibrant flower beds and trees that provide shade. Town of Babylon’s Horticulturist Jen Ulsheimer and Groundskeeper Supervisor Dan Raccomandato worked hard with their crews to make it an environment everyone can appreciate.
If you’re lucky, you might see the turtles coming out of the waters of Turtle Cove to rest on the rocks and dry their shells. The botanical garden also includes planters that grow fresh produce for local Town of Babylon soup kitchens. There are plenty of features with more to come in the near future.

Spring 2023:
The Garden is ready to open its gates starting April 10, 2023 and welcome you all to come back for a visit. We are so happy to begin our fourth season with you all and look forward to catching up with you about your winter adventures and what you will be planting in your own gardens.
This year we planted a wonderful amount of tulips that will be blooming in the middle of April. There are combinations of soft pinks and starry white ones in the rose garden and then a bold splash of color in front of the cottage. We added a new border of purple and white to the dwarf conifer area as well.
In addition to the tulips, the orchard will be showing its flowers for the tasty peaches, plums, apples, and pear that we will see later in the summer. Some of our early rhododendrons and azaleas with begin blooming in mid to late April. May is really your month to see them in full swing.
