Veterans Advisory Council
About the Council:
The Veterans Advisory Council is dedicated to working with our Town of Babylon Veterans. Through yearly programs and events, the council aims to provide meaningful community celebrations that honor our veterans and their service to our country.
Message from the Chair:
Veterans and residents,
As a former 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army, it is a great honor to give back to my local community by serving as Chair of the Town of Babylon Veterans Advisory Council. We have a wonderful community of veterans here in Babylon and I applaud each one of them for the sacrifices they have made in service to our country.
The Veterans Advisory Council establishes connections between town government and local veterans’ groups with the goal of honoring our veterans year-round as well as giving veterans a chance to communicate how we can best be of assistance to them.
Some of our most notorious celebrations of veterans include or annual Babylon Solider Ride, the Hometown Heroes banner program as well as Veterans Awareness Week each November. All these events as well as several others give the Babylon community a chance to say thank you to those who have scarified so much.
A quarterly informational newsletter is sent to all veterans that are on our mailing list. These newsletters provide information for veterans such as upcoming events, tax credit reminders, local and national veteran related news and much more. If you would like to be added to our mailing list, please contact the office or e-mail us at tobveterans@townofbabylon.com.
If you are a veteran in need of assistance or looking to get involved in our community, please give my office a call for help.
My best,
DuWayne Gregory
