Town of Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez and Councilman Terence McSweeney were recently on-hand for the renaming of a section of Carto Circle in Deer Park to “Auxiliary Police Captain Anthony DeNoyior Circle.” Captain Anthony DeNoyior, who passed away in April 2020 at the age of 55, served as a proud member of the Suffolk County Auxiliary Police force. Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and Suffolk County Legislator Tom Donnelly also joined his wife Stacy, sons Nick and Joseph, officers from the Suffolk County Police Department and dozens of guests at the ceremony.
Captain DeNoyior was a man deeply devoted to his Catholic faith who would have celebrated his 57th birthday the day prior to the street renaming ceremony. Captain DeNoyior joined the Auxiliary Police force in 2002 and spent his career serving Suffolk County’s first precinct for almost 19 years. In the department, he was known for being a leader in his unit, always stepping up to help and guide new members. He clocked more than 4,000 hours of career volunteer work and earned three outstanding service awards along with 10 length of service awards. An avid baseball fan, Captain DeNoyior also volunteered with Deer Park Little League.
