Between September and mid-October, Town of Babylon Councilman Anthony Manetta, Town Clerk Gerry Compitello and the Sons of Italy Constantino Brumidi Lodge collected 150 pounds of pasta and around 75 jars of sauce as part of Councilman Manetta’s annual Pasta and Sauce Drive.
Employees and members of the community all contributed generous donations that will benefit the Town of Babylon Food Pantry. Pasta is considered one of the best items to donate to as it is one of the easiest to turn into a meal.
The food pantry accepts items year round and is located at 1 Commerce Boulevard in Amityville. Most needed items include: peanut butter, jelly, tuna, canned vegetables, soup, pasta, sauce, rice and beans.
