As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez, Councilman Terence McSweeney and Receiver of Taxes Jennifer Montiglio recently gathered with Suffolk County Legislator Jason Richberg at the Wyandanch Senior Nutrition Center to recognize and give thanks to Compare Foods of Wyandanch for their contributions to our community.

The Wyandanch Senior Nutrition Center, under the leadership of Chief Head Cook Brenda McDonald, provides close to 500 meals a day to all four of Babylon’s senior center’s as well as the Rainbow Center in the Village of Lindenhurst. Over the years and throughout the pandemic, Compare Fresh has become essential to the nutrition center’s operations as they generously step in to donate food whenever needed.

“Compare Foods is a staple of the Wyandanch community, and I thank them for all they do for not only their patrons, but also for the Town of Babylon. They are a great asset to Brenda and her staff always, but especially earlier this year when we were still providing meals to seniors at home during the pandemic,” said Supervisor Rich Schaffer. “Whenever I call, whatever I need, they are always here to help me feed our seniors,” added Chief Head Cook Brenda McDonald.
