[ARCHIVED] Winter Storm Warning - January 7, 2022

Town of Babylon Snow Plow

Weather Alert: The Nation Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Suffolk County that will be in effect from 12:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022. The forecast currently calls for 4-6 inches of snow, with the heaviest snow falling early Friday morning. The morning commute is expected to be treacherous and we are encouraging all residents who can avoid non-essential travel to do so.

The town’s fleet of snow plows are fully-fueled, loaded with salt and ready to go. Department of Public Works crews are on standby and ready to respond overnight. To assist them in plowing the roads, we ask all residents to please move your vehicles off of the road and into your driveway before the snow begins.

Please note that the tax collection at Town Hall will remain open tomorrow, however, we encourage residents to wait until conditions gradually improve throughout the day before venturing out.

Please stay safe and exercise extreme caution if driving during the storm.
