Due to recent issues with poor response times, as well as ongoing allegations of internal mismanagement and harassment, the Town has suspended its contract for fire and emergency services with the North Amityville Fire Company.

North Amityville Fire Company is a corporate entity entirely separate from the Town of Babylon, and therefore our ability to implement real reforms, when faced with complete obstruction and a continued unacceptable performance in emergency response, is limited to ending our contract with NAFCO while ensuring North Amityville residents continue to receive the services they deserve.
The Town is currently negotiating with neighboring departments to provide services to the residents and property owners in North Amityville on a temporary basis, as everyone involved would like to see a swift resolution to the ongoing personnel and performance issues at NAFCO and the restoration of the department to its long history of dedicated public service.
