The Town of Babylon, Babylon Village and the American Legion Post 94 recently partnered with the Veterans Yoga Project to host a 6 week series of Mindful Resilience yoga classes for Babylon veterans and their family members. Mindful Resilience is what we call the collection of mind-body practices that can help us breathe easier, focus clearer, move freer, rest deeper and with an attitude of gratitude, remember what is working in our lives.

In an interview with Newsday, John Reynolds, a 76 year old U.S. Army Veteran from Lindenhurst said, "It's helping me with flexibility and balance and generally just being able to move my body."

“I want to thank the American Legion Post 94, the Village of Babylon, and the Veterans Yoga Project for helping us provide this great initiative to our local veterans," said Councilman DuWayne Gregory. "Supporting mental health is just as important as physical health, and I’m so glad many of our veterans enjoyed taking these classes," added Councilman Gregory.

The Town hopes to offer additional classes in the future so stay tuned for additional information.
