Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer joined with Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez and Town Clerk Carol Quirk to honor a group of children from North Babylon who recently held a lemonade sale in the neighborhood to benefit a local family who lost their home on Phelps Lane in a fire. The children donated all proceeds from the two-hour sale to the family, which resulted in $250 in cash and another $150 in gift cards. The eleven children were invited to Town Hall, where they were thanked for their service and presented with Certificates of Appreciation from the Town.
The benefit lemonade sale was the idea of Reese Rowland and Gia Licata and was successful with the help of their friends and siblings: Jack Rowland, Blake Rowland, Gianna Oliva, Gianna Scibelli, Lauren Smith, Dylan Smith, Ryan Miller, Sydney Kramer and Mason Kramer.
