Councilman DuWayne Gregory and Parks Commissioners Dan McKeon, Eva Rodriguez-Greguski and Marlon Marshall recently broke ground at the site of what will soon be a brand new playground at Michel Park.
The new playground will include five new play structures and at the request of those who live in the East Farmingdale community, it will also feature an ADA specific structure designed to accommodate children in wheelchairs. The safety surface will be turf and will fit roughly the same footprint of the prior playground that had become outdated over the years.
Construction on the new playground is set to begin this week and expected to be completed later this spring.
