Long Island Waste and Materials Management is at a critical operation for government officials to provide safe and responsible services to residents in an efficient, sustainable and cost effective manner.
Stony Brook University, the Towns of Babylon, Brookhaven and Islip have been working with the NYSDEC on executing a $250,000 grant to develop recommendations on a number of projected solid waste management issues.
In an effort to ascertain community understanding, current level of efforts, opinions and commitments moving forward, the group has developed a questionnaire for the general public that we are hopeful will provide insight on more specific focus areas of the issues facing Long Island.
