[ARCHIVED] Town Honors Couple Celebrating 65th Anniversary

Town of Babylon Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez and Councilman Tom Donnelly recently presented Rhoda and Marty Newman of North Babylon with an official Town proclamation in celebration of their 65th wedding anniversary. The Town Board also declared December 18th, 2013 “Rhoda and Marty Newman Day” in the Town of Babylon to mark the couple’s milestone anniversary. Marty, who served in World War II as a member of the Coast Guard, and Rhoda have three sons and nine grandchildren and continue to be active in the community, including at the Town’s Spangle Drive Senior Center in North Babylon.
