Town of Babylon Councilman Tom Donnelly recently joined with Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and New York State Assemblyman Andrew Raia to honor Frank Agoglia, a veteran of World War II who has been a resident of Deer Park for fifty years. Also in attendance for the ceremony were representatives from the local VFW Post and members of the Deer Park Fire Department, including Commissioner Chris Schiavo, Chief Larry Bradbury and Chief Phil Scarfi.

While serving with the Gilder Infantry Regiment attached to the 82nd Airborne Division during World War II, Frank Agoglia took part in the June 6th, 1944 invasion of Normandy, France by Allied forces, otherwise known as “D-Day.” Following his military service, Frank was a detective with the New York City Police Department for thirty-three years. Frank has been a resident of Deer Park for over fifty years, where he and his wife raised their four children, seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Frank Agoglia (seated front) is pictured with his family as well as Councilman Donnelly (third from left), County Executive Bellone (fifth from left), Assemblyman Raia (right) and other local officials.
