[ARCHIVED] Babylon Officials Induct New Youth Court Members

Town of Babylon Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez joined with Councilman Tom Donnelly and Town Clerk Carol Quirk to induct the Town of Babylon Youth Court’s Class of 2014. The Youth Court oath was administered by Deputy Supervisor Martinez to the eight new inductees in attendance.

The Town of Babylon Youth Court serves to reduce juvenile delinquency through positive peer influence and allows first time offenders of violations or misdemeanors under the age of 16 to be heard by a jury made up of those close in age to them. The Youth Court is made up of students between the ages of 14 and 18 who have completed a multi-week training program.

The inductees are pictured in the front row from left to right: Peter McKenzie, Johndee Baptiste, Joshua Robertson, Justin Leonard, Justin Robertson, Lamar Boucher, Nicholas McGraw and Nikki Wieman. Not in attendance were fellow new inductees Derick Young, Eric Waugh and Justin Hutchinson.
