The 2014 Suffolk County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan that was submitted to both NYS OEM and FEMA for approval on April 3rd is now posted on the Suffolk County website at www.suffolkcountyny.gov/respond.
The 2014 Update to the Suffolk County Multi-Jurisdictional Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan was prepared in accordance with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 (DMA 2000). DMA 2000 requires states and local governments to prepare all hazard mitigation plans in order to remain eligible to receive pre-disaster mitigation grant funds that are made available in the wake of federally-declared disasters.
