Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez and Councilman Tom Donnelly recently joined with dozens of youth volunteers and community members for the West Babylon Main Street Organization’s 2nd Annual “Go Green” event. As part of the event, numerous sites throughout the hamlet of West Babylon were cleaned up and adorned with colorful flowers in an effort to beautify the area. Volunteers included members of the West Babylon Main Street Organization, boy and girl scouts, students, junior firefighters, school district officials, representatives of the West Babylon Lions Club and local veterans.
Supervisor Schaffer, Deputy Supervisor Martinez and Councilman Donnelly thanked all the participants for their dedicated efforts. Youth volunteers earned Global Youth Service Certificates for making a difference in their community.
