Babylon Town Councilman Tom Donnelly recently joined with local officials to honor James J. Ahearn of Lindenhurst for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, which he attained after the completion of his Eagle project to help protect turtles from predators in local waters. James’ Eagle project took 171 man-hours to complete and consisted of designing, constructing and installing floating platforms that turtle species within the Town can use to bask in the sun, away from local predators and humans. A Court of Honor ceremony was held for James, a member of Troop 183, at the North Lindenhurst Fire Department.
