[ARCHIVED] DPFD Announces 9/11 Essay Contest for Deer Park Students

As part of their annual essay contest, the Deer Park Fire Department is asking students from Deer Park High School, Robert Frost Middle School and John F. Kennedy Intermediate School to write an essay of no more than 500 words to answer the question: “Why is it important to remember what happened on 9/11/01?”

The deadline for submission is August 1, 2014. One essay will be selected from each of the three schools listed above. Each of the three winning writers will receive a $50 gift card. The winners and their essays will be recognized at the Deer Park Fire Department’s 9/11 Memorial Service on September 6, 2014. Essays must include the student’s name, home phone number, grade, and school, or have an entry form attached (see the link below for form).
