[ARCHIVED] Local Sponsors Show Support for Wyandanch Youth Basketball League

Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer has announced that over 15 organizations signed on to sponsor the 2014 Wyandanch Basketball Championship League hosted by The Wyandanch National Night Out Committee in partnership with Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory, the Suffolk County Police Department PAL and the Town’s Wyandanch Community Resource Center. The various sponsors, representing numerous different interests in the area, signify the widespread enthusiasm for the league throughout the Town. Among the league’s sponsors are the Suffolk County Police Athletic League (PAL), the Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk and airline chartering company Talon Air, who is sponsoring two teams in the league.

The Wyandanch Basketball Championship League is a coed 5-week, 40-game season for ages 14-18 throughout Suffolk County. There are 160 participants currently enrolled in the league, which started competition in late-June at Wyandanch Park on Mount Avenue.
