[ARCHIVED] Town Officials Congratulate Deer Park Girl Scout for Earning Gold Award

Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer recently joined with Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez, Councilwoman Jacqueline Gordon and Councilman Tom Donnelly to congratulate Catherine Pfundstein of Deer Park for earning the Girl Scout Gold Award. A ceremony was held by Deer Park Girl Scouts Service Unit 7 at the Deer Park Firehouse to present Catherine with the Gold Award, which is the highest honor presented in the Girl Scouts organization. Catherine’s Gold Award Project included the construction of a mobile book cart for the Huntington Hills Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Melville, which she collected and stocked. She also interviewed several veterans at the facility and submitted their videos and transcripts of their stories to the Veterans History Project, in addition to painting bathrooms at the center.
