Councilwoman Jacqueline Gordon would like to inform students within the Town of Babylon that Your Time for Creative Empowerment Inc., a local non-profit organization, is hosting an art contest with scholarship prizes. Prizes range from $500 to $1,000 depending on grade level and will be awarded to those projects that illustrate 21st self and community empowerment through an art form, whether it be performing, multi-media, mixed-media, literary or visual. The deadline for submissions is October 23rd, 2014. The winner will be featured at the organization’s 2014 Gala, where Councilwoman Gordon will be honored.
