[ARCHIVED] Deer Park Community Member Honored by Town Officials at Deer Park Homecoming Parade

Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Councilman Tom Donnelly and Town Clerk Carol Quirk were in attendance for the Deer Park High School Homecoming Parade, where they honored Rosalie Downey for her charitable work in the community. Rosalie, who served as Grand Marshall for the parade, runs the Deputy Chief Raymond Downey Scholarship Foundation in the memory of her late husband, who died in the line of duty on September 11th, 2001. Over the past thirteen years, the foundation has awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to students in our area. At the parade, Rosalie was presented with an official Certificate of Appreciation from the Town Board in recognition of her efforts.
