Babylon Town Councilman Tom Donnelly recently thanked Sean Hotelling and members of Boy Scout Troop 175 for their work in cleaning up the Davis-Seaman Cemetery, located on Larsen Lane in West Babylon. The cleanup was done as part of Sean’s Eagle Scout Project and included the installation of a flag pole, benches and plantings. The cemetery dates back to 1862 and is the final resting place of two Civil War soldiers: brothers Edward Davis and John B. Davis, as well as five generations of the Davis and Seaman families. Work is currently being done by the Town of Babylon Office of Historical Services to designate the Davis-Seaman Cemetery as a local historic site.
