Babylon Town Councilman Jackie Gordon would like to remind residents that Friday, August 7th is national Purple Heart Day, which honors those who have received the Purple Heart Medal as a result of their great actions in the defense of our country. Last year, the Town of Babylon was named as an official "Proud Purple Heart Town" by the Military Order of the Purple Heart in recognition of those who have earned the medal for their acts of heroism while being wounded or killed in combat. Take this opportunity to show your appreciation for those who have received the honorable distinction of the Purple Heart and for the sacrifices that they have made in order to protect the freedoms that we hold dear.
