Town of Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer recently joined Town Councilman Tom Donnelly, Town Clerk Carol Quirk, and Town Receiver of Taxes Corinne DiSomma to induct the newest members of the Town of Babylon Youth Court. The Youth Court oath was administered by Supervisor Schaffer to the new inductees in attendance. The goal of the Youth Court is to reduce juvenile delinquency through positive peer influence while allowing first time offenders of violations or misdemeanors under the age of 16 to be heard by a jury made up of those close in age to them. The Town of Babylon Youth Court Class of 2016 consists of 22 members between the ages of 14 and 18 who have completed a multi-week program.
