On April 13, 2013, Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez, Councilman Tom Donnelly, and Town Clerk Carol Quirk were on hand to welcome Ocean State Job Lot to North Babylon as part of the store’s grand opening celebration. At the ceremony, the Town officials joined with Ocean State Job Lot representatives for a ribbon cutting to officially open the store. This is the first Long Island location for the Rhode Island-based franchise, which has 108 other store locations throughout New York and New England. The grand opening celebration featured a special appearance by Alfie, the mascot from nearby Adventureland, who is pictured with Supervisor Schaffer below.
