In the spirit of honoring our service men and women for Memorial Day, three fifth grade students from the Babylon Memorial Grade School have been spending their time selling lemonade to raise money to send a World War II veteran on an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Juliette Chapman, Emily Kenny, and Megan O’Malley have raised $264 and have about $136 remaining before they reach their goal of $400, which pays for the flight, food, and bus for one World War II veteran to visit their memorial in Washington D.C.
Honor Flight Long Island is a non-profit organization that operates on donations from local and regional organizations and individuals from across Long Island. Anyone who wishes to support this organization can visit www.honorflightlongisland.org.
