[ARCHIVED] Town of Babylon to Hold Second-Annual Kayaking Event

On Saturday, September 17th, the Town of Babylon will host the second-annual Kayaking for a Cause event at Cedar Beach. Every year, the Town of Babylon Veterans Advisory Council chooses a local veterans group to which the event’s proceeds will support. This year’s event will support the Sgt. John Sardiello American Legion Post 1634 in West Babylon.

Whether you’re just starting out or are already an experienced kayaker, there will be three separate trails for you to choose from, depending on your skill level:

Beginner Trail – 2.5 miles
Intermediate Trail – 3.5 miles
Advanced Trail – 5.5 miles

The registration fee is $35 for adults and $15 for children aged 12 and under. Registration includes participation in the tour, a t-shirt, and a bracelet for lunch at the Cedar Beach Hut. *Those paying by check MUST complete the corresponding form available on the Kayaking for a Cause homepage.

This year’s event is limited to 100 kayakers on a first come, first serve basis. Your spot will not will not be reserved until your registration fee is received. On-site registration begins at 7:30AM at the Cedar Beach Marina and the tour will launch at 9:00AM. Please park your vehicle across the street from the marina at Cedar Beach.
