Town of Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer recently joined with Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez, Suffolk County Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory, and Suffolk County Legislator Kevin McCaffrey at the Town’s 18th annual Hispanic Heritage Month Festival. This year’s theme was “Hispanic Americans: Embracing, Enriching & Enabling America,” and three honorees were awarded for their contributions to the local community. A keynote address was delivered by Harold Fernandez, MD, who is the Chief of Cardiovascular Surgery for Southside Hospital.
This year’s festival at Lindenhurst Middle School featured live music, special performances, children’s activities, vendors and raffles. Deputy Supervisor Martinez joined Town of Babylon Department of Human Services Commissioner Madeline Quintyne in a presentation of awards. This year’s honorees are:
