Town of Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer recently joined with Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez and Councilman Tom Donnelly at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony for Nicholas Marcis, of Babylon Village. The Eagle Scout is the highest rank available in the Boy Scouts Organization.

For his Eagle Scout project, Nicholas installed benches and planters at the front entrance of North Babylon High School. In order to secure the funding for the project, Nicholas and the Scouts of Troop 179 held a car wash at Our Lady of Lourdes, RCC. In addition, he solicited donations from his vast network of family and friends. In the end, the project created an ascetically-pleasing seating area by the main entrance to the high school.

Supervisor Schaffer congratulated Nicholas on his achievement and wished him well in his future endeavors. In addition, the Babylon Town Board recently passed Resolution No. 720, which proclaimed October 30th, 2016 as “Eagle Scout Nicholas A. Marcis Day” in the Town of Babylon.
