Town of Babylon Councilman Tom Donnelly recently joined with Town of Babylon Special Assistant Terry McSweeney at a Silver Award Ceremony honoring local girl scouts from Troop 283. The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout Cadette can earn, giving girls the chance to do great things while making the community a better place. Initiatives conducted by the girls included filling Christmas stockings for soldiers overseas, donating books for hospital patients, Bobwhite Quail conservation, and installing ‘Children at Play’ signs throughout the community.
Councilman Donnelly and Special Assistant McSweeney thanked Troop 283 for their dedication to the community and congratulated the girl scouts on achieving the honor of the Silver Award.
