[ARCHIVED] "Green Shirts" Arrive to Assist Sandy Victims in Town of Babylon

Representatives from the international disaster relief agency World Renew, known as “Green Shirts,” will be knocking on doors today, Wednesday May 1st, and tomorrow, Thursday May 2nd, to gather information from those affected by Superstorm Sandy and to discuss any unmet needs or difficulties that residents may have faced during their rebuilding and recovery effort.

If you have not been visited and wish to meet with a “Green Shirt,” please go to the walk-in center that has been setup at Babylon Town Hall, located at 200 East Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst. This walk-in center will be open today, Wednesday May 1st, and tomorrow, Thursday May 2nd, from 10:00am to 7:00pm. If you have a FEMA number, please bring it with you.

World Renew is a FEMA accredited volunteer organization that is working with the Long Island Long Term Recovery Group, as well as Neighbors Supporting Neighbors Babylon, to assess storm related needs within our area.
