[ARCHIVED] Town of Babylon Urges Residents to Practice Water Safety

Water Safety Newsflash.jpg
With the warm summer months approaching, the Town of Babylon would like to remind residents about the importance of practicing safe behavior while in, on, or near water. Drowning is the second-leading cause of unintentional injury or death for children ages 1-14, which serves as a reminder that proper adult supervision and knowledge of water safety skills are imperative for a happy and healthy upcoming summer season. At a recent board meeting, the Babylon Town Board was pleased to welcome Bobby Hazen, Founder of the “End Drowning Now” campaign.

Residents are urged to visit the End Drowning Now campaign’s website at www.enddrowningnow.org for information on water safety, early childhood swimming education, and facts and statistics related to water-related incidents. Residents are also encouraged to click on the below link to download the campaign’s water safety booklet.
