[ARCHIVED] Councilwoman Gordon Sponsors Free Breast Screenings
Town of Babylon Councilwoman Jackie Gordon recently sponsored a free breast cancer screening event performed by the Good Samaritan Women's Imaging Center in West Islip. Uninsured women between the ages of 40 and 64 were eligible for the free screenings.
"Early detection of breast cancer saves lives, and I am proud to support such a great initiative that provides these essential, life-saving services to those women who are less fortunate," said Councilwoman Gordon. "I'd like to thank the Good Samaritan Women's Imaging Center and the Cancer Services Program for making this event possible."
The Good Samaritan Women's Imaging Center is a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence offering advanced screening, diagnostic tests and procedures. It was the first facility in Suffolk County with 3D digital tomosynthesis to better detect abnormalities in dense breast tissue. The facility is located at 735 Montauk Highway in West Islip. For further information or to schedule an appointment, please call 631-376-4440.
