Town of Babylon Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez recently joined with members of the Wyandanch Homes and Property Development Corp. (WHPDC) on 26th Street in Wyandanch, where volunteers spent their Saturdays cleaning up and beautifying several properties. The volunteer work was in celebration of Citi’s 12th Annual Global Community Day, with more than 100,000 Citi Volunteers across 500 cities around the world participating.

Established in 1985, the WHPDC is a nonprofit community-based organization that addresses the needs of low income and homeless families living in Wyandanch and other impacted Suffolk County communities. Through the Project Self Sufficiency Program, WHPDC provides affordable rental housing and support services in the form of case management to low income and homeless families.

Deputy Supervisor Martinez expressed his gratitude to the volunteers for taking time out of their days to serve the community.
