Town of Babylon Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez recently joined with Councilwoman Jackie Gordon at a Court of Honor ceremony recognizing new Eagle Scout Mathew Schoenfeld of West Babylon. Mathew, a member of Troop 104, oversaw the painting of a Marine Life mural at the Cedar Beach Sport Fishing Education Center. Mathew drew a design on poster board and then enlisted the help of family friend and artist Allan Sanchez to sketch out the design on a large wall at the fishing center. The project took 147 total man hours and was a true team effort as scouts, leaders and adults came by to help mix the paint and paint the wall.

Deputy Supervisor Martinez and Councilwoman Gordon thanked Mathew for his dedicated service and congratulated him on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, which is the highest-available rank in the Boy Scouts Organization.
