Posted on: July 13, 2017[ARCHIVED] New Eagle Scout Recognized by Town of Babylon Officials

Town of Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer recently joined with Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez and Councilwoman Jackie Gordon at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony recognizing new Eagle Scout Daniel Zummo, of Lindenhurst. The Eagle Scout is the highest-achievable rank in the Boy Scouts organization. Zummo, of Troop 183, built and installed four rescue ladders and five fishing line recycling containers at the Lindenhurst Village Marina. In order to fund this Eagle Scout project, Zummo organized a car wash, which raised over $1,100. He credits the help of many volunteers, scouts, scoutmasters, friends and family for making this project a reality.
Also joining Town officials were Suffolk County Legislator Kevin McCaffrey, Lindenhurst Village Trustee Joan Masterson, and Lindenhurst Village Administrator Clerk Douglas Madlon. Supervisor Schaffer thanked Daniel for his service to the community and presented him with an official Town of Babylon proclamation.
