Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer, along with other local officials, recently attended an Eagle Court of Honor for Amityville’s Joseph E. Lamanna of Troop 690. The Eagle Scout is the highest rank achievable in the Boy Scouts organization. For his Eagle Project, Joseph constructed an insect hotel for the Homecoming Farm in Amityville. An Insect Hotel provides a home for pollinators and pest controllers such as wild bee, spiders and ladybugs. It will help keep the farm and its crops organic.
Supervisor Schaffer commended Joseph for his achievement and presented him with an official Town of Babylon proclamation.
