Town of Babylon Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez, Councilwoman Jackie Gordon and Special Assistant Terence McSweeney recently thanked the dedicated volunteers from Copiague Community Cares at its annual Awareness Walk and Community Clean-Up Day.  Beautification Program Director Florence Findley and New York State Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre were also on-hand for the event.

Sharon Fattoruso, the organization’s founder and president, organized the clean-up effort and awareness walk with her hard-working committee to bring attention to drug use in the community.

Copiague Community Cares is a coalition comprised of parents, students, teachers, law enforcement, businesses, religious leaders, health providers and other community activists. These groups work together to make the Copiague community safer, healthier and drug free.  Visit for more information about the group’s mission and upcoming events.
