Supervisor Rich Schaffer and Deputy Supervisor/Councilman Tony Martinez recently joined the Copiague Chamber of Commerce and VFW Post 9482 for an American Flag Dedication Ceremony. Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory, Special Assistant Terence McSweeney and Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre were also in attendance.

The Copiague Chamber of Commerce purchased the 25-foot aluminum tapered flag pole that displays the American Flag, which now adorns the beautifully-landscaped Adopt-A-Spot corner located at Great Neck Road and Dixon Avenue in Copiague.  Uniformed Veterans from VFW Post 9482 led the dedication with the Pledge of Allegiance and Flag Raising Ceremony.  The ceremony was held in honor of all Veterans and Active Service Members that protect our freedom.

Other attendees include: civic and chamber members, Copiague Kiwanis, the Suffolk County Police Department First Precinct and its Explorers Club, Deacon Phil Mills from Our Lady of Assumption Church as well as many residents.
