Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez, Councilwoman Jackie Gordon and Councilman Tom Donnelly thanked three Girl Scouts for encouraging book sharing and reading. Girl Scouts Theresa Soraire, Emma Farina and Maya Escalera constructed a colorful “Little Free Library” to complete their Bronze Award Project. The library will inspire students to read and teach the values of sharing to those who visit it. Local parks, schools, libraries and municipalities have discovered the benefits that “Little Free Library” book exchanges bring to local neighborhoods. It is located in front of the Tanner Park Senior Center, providing visitors access to free books 24/7. The Girl Scouts were bestowed with Certificates of Appreciation for their outstanding efforts.
