From the Town of Babylon Beautification Program: Dr. Larry Galinkin and Dr. Patricia Ford from the Nassau County Pediatrics Society of NY visited the Milton L. Olive Middle School in Wyandanch during “Every Kid Healthy Week” to present a gift donation in the amount of $500.00 for materials, tools and much needed supplies for the campus vegetable gardens.  The students, through Starflower Experiences, Inc., a local not-for-profit educational organization, learn to understand, appreciate and improve their relations with the Earth through hands-on experiences.  The doctors were thanked by the students, school staff and Town of Babylon officials for their commitment to helping kids learn about the importance of growing a variety of healthy vegetables through the wonderful experience of gardening.  The group enjoyed a tour of the greenhouse and well maintained flower bed areas by the enthusiastic students and the school Wellness Committee.

“This generous gift from the Nassau Pediatric Society is not only greatly appreciated, but will help purchase the necessary tools and supplies needed to continue our Garden Program which the students thoroughly enjoy,” said Laurie Farber of Starflower Experiences, Inc.
