Town of Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer and Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez recently attended the Girl Scout Gold Award Ceremony and Celebration for Chloë and Paige Bzdyk, twins from Babylon Village. The Gold Award is given to individuals who have reached the highest rank in the Girl Scouts of America and completed a project to better their community.

Chloë wrote a book about bullying based on a series of interviews she did with the cast and crew of “Live to Tell,” a soon-to-be-filmed movie. Paige, who was also recently selected as a winner of the Covantage EcoTech Scholarship Contest hosted by the Town of Babylon and Covanta Energy, created a weekly summer camp for Babylon students that explores six different scientific topics.

Supervisor Schaffer and Deputy Supervisor Martinez congratulated the twins for their impressive accomplishment and thanked them for their service to the Babylon community.
