From the Town of Babylon Beautification Program: On Thursday, October 18th, Councilwoman and Town of Babylon Beautification Chair Jackie Gordon’s Wilson Tech SkillsUSA morning and afternoon students participated in their annual beautification effort of their Adopt-A-Spot areas at Copiague’s Tanner Park main entrance and the Tanner Park Senior Citizen Center flower beds.
The youth volunteers braved a chilly October day and eagerly, cleaned-up, weeded and planted Autumn annuals of colorful chrysanthemums and ornamental kale that now adorn the main entrance to Tanner Park and the flower beds surrounding the perimeter of the Senior Center. Councilwoman Gordon, in her 4th year of coming to Tanner with her Wilson Tech students, encouraged them to participate in community service and to assist in helping to keep our parks clean and beautiful.
