From the Town of Babylon Beautification Program: Cassidy R. Bonadonna, a Robert Moses Middle School student, was inducted as a Junior Beautification Ambassador (JBA) at a special ceremony at Town Hall on January 16, 2019. For her leadership skills, Cassidy’s continued dedication and commitment to improve her town through community service was recognized by Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Councilwoman and Beautification Chair Jacqueline Gordon and the entire Town Board. Cassidy, a 6th grade student, is active in the Student Council and has served as President and Vice President, and is also concerned about community issues.
As an appointed JBA, Cassidy will join her fellow junior ambassadors in helping to promote the Town of Babylon Beautification Program initiatives and will also gain an understanding of issues impacting our neighborhoods, share acquired knowledge with her peers and help organize interactive volunteer events. The JBA Committee will also assist the Town in its quest to encourage volunteerism and stewardship and promote an appreciative and caring attitude toward our environment and needs of others in our community.
Councilwoman Gordon, while placing the official Junior Beautification Ambassador pin onto Cassidy’s label, stated, “You are a role model and we cannot thank you enough – you are truly an inspiration and we will embrace you, support you and assist you with your optimism and positivity.” Cassidy said she will make our Town proud. Joining the Town Board members in honoring Cassidy for her accolade were her mother and father, Lorie and Mike Bonadonna, her brothers Thomas and Braden, her Uncle Robert Bonadonna as well as Robert Moses Middle School principal John Ruggero.
The TOB Beautification Program was designed and created to help educate the community about the importance of keeping our township clean and beautiful through awareness and hands-on activities. The Beautification Program encourages the positive effects of volunteerism and stewardship as it promotes an appreciative and caring attitude toward our environment and the needs of others.
