Recently, the Deer Park Community Association (DPCA) hosted its Swearing-In Ceremony attended by numerous local elected officials who each congratulated the new Board positions as well as thanked the outgoing officers for their dedicated volunteer service to the community.  With the assistance from Judge Kelly, Supervisor Rich Schaffer had the distinct honor of swearing in the new board.  The new board members and the outgoing members received special proclamations from the elected officials, representing State, County and Town governments, for their commitment to the betterment of the Deer Park community.

At the meeting, the new board members discussed their desire to engage local youth in community projects as well as sponsor an Annual Black History Month event, which will take place at the Sound of Heaven Church, located at 375 Commack Rd, Deer Park next month.  The meeting also hosted guest speakers, including Police Officer Jeff Blaskiewicz from the 1st Precinct who spoke about resident safety, security and forming Neighborhood Watch groups as well as a speaker discussing the importance of financial planning and budgeting.

The DPCA beautifies the Deer Park Clock Tower area each season, hosts its successful and well attended Annual Fall Family Festival and Geiger Park, supports children in need, provides scholarships, supports our fine Police Department and helps make Deer Park a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family.
