[ARCHIVED] Town of Babylon honors four Eagle Scouts

Town of Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez and other members of the Town Board were recently in attendance for several Court of Honor ceremonies. Four local scouts achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout at the ceremonies, after meeting multiple requirements including the completion of a project to better their communities.

Blake Waszmer, Troop 60, Lindenhurst: Blake replaced a chicken wire fence with a white PVC fence at Our Lady of Grace Parrish in West Babylon. He will be attending University at Buffalo as a biology major next semester.

Richard J. Incandella, Troop 157, Deer Park: Richard constructed a “Chair of Honor” dedicated to soldiers who were prisoners of war or missing in action. The chair symbolically remains empty at all times until all of our troops return home. Richard attends American University and majors in communications, legal institutions, economics and government.

Michael R. Joyce, Troop 157, Deer Park: Michael built a new trophy case for the Deer Park High School Music Department in the band room. Michael now attends Delaware University and majors in electrical engineering.

Michael Karam, Troop 284, Copiague: Michael installed a 25-foot flagpole and memorial monument at the Plainedge Soccer Field.
