[ARCHIVED] Town of Babylon joins “P.S. I Love You” initiative

PS I Love You Day.jpg
Town of Babylon Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez and Councilman Terry McSweeney recently attended a presentation at Robert Moses Middle School in North Babylon for P.S. I Love You Day, an anti-suicide and anti-bullying initiative. At a recent Town Board meeting, Supervisor Rich Schaffer and the rest of the council members unanimously approved the second Friday every February to official be P.S. I Love you Day in the Town of Babylon.

P.S. I Love You was organized by Brooke DiPalma, a 22-year-old college graduate whose father committed suicide in 2010. DiPalma, who was 11 at the time, is open about her struggles with the tragic event and how she overcame it. She focuses on the importance of individuals, especially children and teenagers, treating each other with care and respect because you never know the struggles that someone is going through.
